What I reach for, and why. Nothing is here because it is trendy. Each one is something I use or have decided to use, and the line under it says which.

When a link on this page is an affiliate link, it carries a visible affiliate marker next to it, and I get paid if you buy through it. Today none of the links below are.

Building

  • Claude Code

the agent that writes and runs the scripts, the site and my own working directives

this is how I work: every script, directive and page here was built with it

  • Astro

the framework this site is built with

this site: no JavaScript of my own beyond the theme switch (the host adds one small script on the contact page to hide the address from spam robots)

  • Tailwind CSS

    the styling for this site

this site: every colour and size comes from one token file, no component library

  • Playwright

browser automation for the launch checklist on this site

installed for the site check on 6 Sep, no verdict yet

  • Cloudflare Pages

    hosting for client sites

my default, decided 6 Sep 2026, this site goes there next, no verdict from a live site yet

  • Obsidian

the vault every plan and journal here lives in

where everything is written down first

Scraping and data

  • Scrapling

scraping local business listings without a paid API

collected 50 restaurant leads in Cluj-Napoca on 6 Sep, phones for 49 and emails for 25, about six minutes, no paid API. One gotcha: cookies go on the session constructor, not on fetch, or every field comes back empty

  • Apify

the earlier source for the same leads

worked, but costs per run. I moved off it once Scrapling did the same job for free

  • Google Sheets (gspread)

where scraped leads and the bar cost tool land

a spreadsheet the client already knows how to open beats a dashboard they have to learn. It is where my deliverables land

Voice and phone

  • Vapi

the English voice layer behind the phone receptionist

wired to real calendar booking; tested with web calls and direct webhook calls; no phone number attached to it yet

  • ElevenLabs Agents

the Romanian voice layer behind the phone receptionist

wired to real calendar booking; took one real inbound call on 28 Aug 2026, which exposed a prompt bug, now fixed and pinned by a test

  • Modal

hosts the phone receptionist's webhooks and an hourly cron

deployed and running for those two jobs
